THE RULES

EQUIPMENT
  • Teams shirts must be of the same color, white (AWAY) or black (HOME). Verify the website for your team color each week. 

  • Although not mandatory, we suggest the use of helmets, gloves, shin pads, protective cup, mouth guard and a shield/visor for your own safety.

  • Any regular hockey stick allowed

PENALTIES
  • Any player who receives 3 penalties in one game is ejected from the game (high sticking* does not count for ejections unless your stick hits another player).

  • If the referee deems that teams are wasting time during a line change (i.e.: substitutions) he can drop the ball on a face-off even though the team is not ready or issue a delay of game penalty if excessive.

  • Any dive/slide that may not interfere with a player but is deemed dangerous by the referee is also a penalty.

  • *If the blade of your stick goes above your waist a penalty will be given for high sticking.

  • Stepping on the ball or purposely shooting the ball out of play will result in delay of game penalty

  • If a goal is scored with a high stick (Follow thru) the goal will be denied.

GAMEPLAY
  • Teams will be given a 5 minute warm-up period

  • Each team has one 30 second timeout per game.

  • The game becomes "stop time" when the score is within 2 goals in the last 2 minutes of play. This rules applies to playoff games only.

  • The referee and scorekeeper have the authority to stop the time clock if they deem it necessary.

  • The games will consist of 3 - 14-minutes periods.

  • Teams must have 1 female on the floor at all times.(Goalie doesn't apply) 

  • All players must be 16 yrs old before Jan 1st, 2024.

  • If a game finishes in a tie, we will have a 3 player shootout.

  • All calls are at the referee’s discretion and are final. Any abuse of officials will result in ejection from the game

  • All communication with the referee is to be done by captains only.

  • If you are bleeding, you must get off the floor.

  • If point standings are tied after the regular season, we will rank in this order:

  1. Wins

  2. Goal differential

  3. Lowest number of Goal Against

  4. Goal For

  • Spare players must be fair. (Don't sub a beginner with an advanced player) Ref can deny a sub if deemed unfair and the team will play short 1 player. 

  • Teams can use players that are not on the spare list if no other players are available. Need to be approved by Mat or Dom. Spares who do not play in the league must pay 10$ per game, the monies are used for prizes at the end of season banquet.
